Beyond Our Differences

If you're a Skagit Dem member:

The Skagit Dems will host a free movie night at the Skagit Dems HQ in Mount Vernon on Friday Feb. 6th at 6:45.  This month the movie is right up our alley.

"Beyond Our Differences-In BEYOND OUR DIFFERENCES, religious leaders, politicians and luminaries in their fields give voice to the positive effects of spirituality and morality, focusing on commonalities spanning all faiths. While the negative — even violent — side of religion is widely reported, director Peter Bisanz documents the hope for positive change and healing universal to so many."

If you haven't seen it, now is the time. If you have seen it, share your insight with others. There is a discussion period afterward.

PBS's Bill Moyers Journal showcased this film in Dec. on his show. You can read more about it here: http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/12262008/profile.html

Last night folks from all around the Skagit area gathered to watch the film, Beyond Our Differences. And what a film it was! Washington's very own Rep. Brian Baird was in it also. Such an insightful, educational and motivating message. At times disturbing, only for the truest honesty it represented. As if each one viewing, was forced to look in the mirror and deep in one's heart. It is not just for those who profess a faith. It spoke to and of all humanity. In the name of humanity. This is certainly a positive tool for any group, community or congregation. And should be shown in every church, mosque, temple, hall, lodge,et al.
Thanks to the Skagit Dems for this selection to view as their monthly movie night film.
